SearAI is a community-driven recipe platform. This Content Policy outlines what content is acceptable when sharing recipes, photos, and other materials in our community library.
1. Purpose
Our Content Policy exists to:
- Maintain a safe, respectful community environment
- Protect intellectual property rights
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Provide high-quality, useful recipe content
2. Acceptable Content

- Your own original recipe photos
- Recipes you have created or modified
- Traditional/public domain recipes with your own photos
- Recipe photos from meals you've cooked
- Helpful cooking tips and variations
- Dietary adaptations and substitutions
3. Prohibited Content

Intellectual Property Violations
- Copyrighted recipe photos from cookbooks, magazines, or websites without permission
- Recipes copied verbatim from copyrighted sources
- Photos of cookbook pages or recipe cards you don't own
- Content that infringes on trademarks or branding
Inappropriate or Harmful Content
- Sexually explicit or pornographic material
- Violent, gory, or disturbing images
- Content promoting self-harm or eating disorders
- Hate speech, discrimination, or harassment
- Content targeting or bullying individuals
Misleading or Dangerous Content
- Intentionally unsafe food handling instructions
- Recipes designed to cause illness or injury
- False nutritional or health claims
- Spam, clickbait, or misleading titles
- Content promoting dangerous dietary practices
Personal Information
- Photos containing personal information (addresses, phone numbers, etc.)
- Images of people without their consent
- Credit card information, passwords, or sensitive data
Illegal Content
- Content depicting or promoting illegal activities
- Recipes for illegal substances
- Content that violates local, national, or international law
4. Recipe Attribution
4.1 Original Recipes
If you're sharing your own original recipe, you retain copyright. By sharing on SearAI, you grant other users the right to view, save, and cook from your recipe.
4.2 Adapted Recipes
If you've significantly modified a recipe from another source:
- You may share your adapted version
- Consider crediting inspiration if appropriate
- Ensure your photo is your own
4.3 Traditional Recipes
Public domain and traditional recipes (e.g., "Classic Spaghetti Bolognese") can be shared if:
- The photo is your own original work
- The recipe text is your own writing, not copied verbatim
5. Quality Guidelines
While not strictly enforced, we encourage:
- Clear, well-lit photos of food
- Accurate recipe information (ingredients, times, servings)
- Helpful descriptions and cooking tips
- Proper categorisation and tagging
6. User Responsibilities
As a SearAI user, you are responsible for:
- Ensuring you have rights to share content you upload
- Verifying accuracy of recipes and food safety practices
- Respecting intellectual property rights
- Reporting content that violates this policy
- Understanding that AI-generated recipe analyses may contain errors
7. Enforcement
7.1 Content Removal
We reserve the right to remove content that violates this policy without notice. Removed content includes:
- Content reported by users and verified as violating policy
- Content identified through automated or manual moderation
- Content subject to legal takedown requests
7.2 Account Consequences
Violations may result in:
- First offense: Warning and content removal
- Repeat offenses: Temporary suspension
- Serious or repeated violations: Permanent account termination
7.3 Appeals
If you believe content was removed in error, you may appeal by contacting support@searai.app with:
- Description of the removed content
- Reason you believe removal was incorrect
- Any supporting evidence (e.g., proof of ownership)
8. Reporting Violations
If you see content that violates this policy:
- Use the in-app report feature (if available)
- Email report@searai.app with details
- Include the recipe name, user, and reason for report
We review all reports and take appropriate action. False or malicious reports may result in consequences for the reporter.
9. Copyright Infringement Claims (DMCA)
If you believe your copyrighted work has been used without permission:
- Email legal@searai.app
- Include: Your contact information, description of copyrighted work, URL/description of infringing content, statement of good faith belief
- We will investigate and respond according to applicable law
10. AI-Generated Content
10.1 Recipe Analyses
SearAI uses AI (OpenAI GPT-4o) to analyse recipe photos. Please note:
- AI analyses are suggestions, not professional advice
- Always verify cooking times, temperatures, and ingredient quantities
- AI may misidentify dishes or suggest incorrect techniques
- Users are responsible for food safety when following AI-generated recipes
10.2 Sharing AI Analyses
You may share AI-analysed recipes in the community library. When you do:
- You confirm the recipe has been verified for accuracy
- You accept responsibility for the shared content
- Other users understand it originated from AI analysis
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Content Policy to reflect:
- Changes in law or regulation
- New features or content types
- Community feedback and needs
Significant changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
