SearAI ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:

• Email address and authentication credentials
• Profile information (name, dietary preferences, allergies, dislikes)
• User-generated content (recipe photos, recipe analyses, saved recipes)

1.2 Photo Library Access

SearAI requires access to your photo library to allow you to:

• Select recipe photos for analysis
• Upload recipe images to the community library

We only access photos that you explicitly select. We do not scan or access your entire photo library.

1.3 Automatically Collected Information

When you use SearAI, we automatically collect:

• Device information (device type, operating system, unique device identifiers)
• Usage data (features used, time spent, interactions)
• Error logs and performance data

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the SearAI service
• Analyse recipe photos using OpenAI's GPT-4o Vision API
• Personalise recipe recommendations based on your dietary preferences
• Enable community features (sharing and saving recipes)
• Process subscription payments through RevenueCat
• Improve and optimise the app experience
• Respond to support requests and provide customer service
• Send important updates and notifications about the service

3. Third-Party Services

3.1 Supabase (Data Storage)

We use Supabase to securely store your account data, recipes, and preferences. Supabase is GDPR compliant and uses industry-standard encryption.

3.2 OpenAI (Recipe Analysis)

When you analyse a recipe photo, the image is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. OpenAI may retain this data according to their data retention policy. We recommend not including personal or sensitive information in recipe photos.

3.3 RevenueCat (Subscriptions)

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. RevenueCat collects transaction data and device identifiers to manage your subscription status.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information:

• With service providers who assist in operating the app (Supabase, OpenAI, RevenueCat)
• When you choose to share recipes publicly in the community library
• If required by law or to protect our legal rights
• In connection with a business transfer (merger, acquisition, etc.)

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
• Encryption of data at rest
• Row Level Security (RLS) policies in our database

7. Children's Privacy

SearAI is intended for users aged 13 and older (COPPA compliance). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time through the app settings.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.
